Privacy policy
How TJ Builds collects, uses and stores the information you send through this website.
What information I collect
When you use the quote form on this site, I collect your name, email address, business name (if you give one), your selected budget range, and whatever you write about your project. If you email me directly instead, I have whatever you choose to include in that email. I don't run any analytics or tracking on this site, so I don't collect browsing behaviour, cookies for tracking purposes, or anything beyond what your browser and my hosting provider log automatically for security and performance.
Why I collect it
I use this to reply to your enquiry, work out a fixed quote, and — if we go ahead — to deliver the website build and ongoing care you've asked for. My legal basis for processing an enquiry is legitimate interest: responding to someone who has actively contacted me about my services. Once you become a client, processing your details becomes necessary to perform the contract between us.
How long I keep it
If your enquiry doesn't turn into a project, I delete your details within 12 months. If you become a client, I keep your contact and project details for as long as I'm hosting and maintaining your site, and for six years afterwards to meet UK tax and accounting record-keeping requirements.
Who else sees it
Enquiries land directly in my inbox — I don't run them through a CRM or share them with anyone else as standard. The site itself is hosted with Vercel Inc., which may process data outside the UK as part of running the infrastructure; Vercel maintains its own safeguards for these international transfers. If I start using a dedicated email delivery service to send quote replies, I'll name it here.
Cookies and analytics
This site doesn't set any tracking or analytics cookies, and I'd rather not track visitors I don't need to. If that ever changes, I'll update this policy and add a consent banner where the law requires one.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask me to show you what I hold on you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy in a portable format, and you can object to me processing it. Email enquiries@tjbuilds.co.uk and I’ll deal with it personally — there’s no support queue to get lost in. If you’re not happy with how I’ve handled something, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
